Some of these are quotes I heard from other people. Some are rules I’ve learned the hard way. I don’t live them perfectly, but I keep coming back to them because they tend to pull me in the right direction.

1. Put yourself first.

If you don’t put yourself first, everyone else will put you last.

This isn’t about becoming selfish. It’s about remembering that your energy, your health, and your peace are not optional. When I take care of those first, I show up better for everything else.

2. Redefine the game until you can be world-class.

Become the best in the world at what you do. Keep redefining what you do until that’s true.

  • Naval Ravikant

I love this one because it forces clarity. Instead of saying yes to everything, it asks me to get specific about the thing I’m actually trying to become great at.

3. Win the first five minutes of the day.

Do at least five push-ups and five squats right after you wake up.

The point isn’t the number. The point is momentum. Starting the day with one small physical win reminds me that action comes before motivation more often than not.

4. Build a ritual that tells your brain it’s time to work.

Have a work-mode ritual.

It can be as small as closing a door, putting on headphones, opening a notebook, or clearing a desk. I like rituals because they remove negotiation. They tell my brain we’re not deciding whether to work. We’re already working.

5. Protect your attention.

What gets your attention gets your life.

This might be the biggest one. The people, apps, habits, and thoughts I give attention to shape the quality of my days. If I guard my attention better, almost everything else gets easier.
